I was very kindly sent the new Exquisite Curl mascara by Boots No 7 to try out and review I don't really talk about make up much on the blog but that doesn't mean I'm not a fan! My top 3 essentials are eyeliner, mascara and lippie so I was more than happy to try a product that would give my lashes a bit of oomph! The website states that the mascara is for curvy lashes with a sexy flutter and since my usual curl enhancing mascara by Benefit is no longer available I was excited to see if this would be an adequate replacement.
First of all, the cost of the mascara is £10 and considering I spend £15 plus at Benefit I was more than pleased. The mascara arrived beautifully wrapped and is lightweight and sleek looking. I'm normally a fan of pretty packaging which is why I've often strayed away from the No 7 collection but this sleek purple case is still pretty and chic looking. The mascara has a curved brush which I like for application because I think you can add the product more evenly across your lashes plus it helps given them that perfect curve.
In terms of the actual product I liked it a lot, it gave my lashes a much need curl without any clumping together, flakiness or smudging. The mascara stayed on all night when I wore it on my Dad's 60th and was easy enough to remove at the end of the evening. My only concern was the thickness of the product but that's more of a personal thing. I like my mascara to be thick and voluminous whilst still giving curl and shape. The exquisite curl mascara could do with being a little thicker but apart from that it's perfect.

After 3 coats
I'm definitely tempted to try out more No 7 products now but maybe not enter their best wink competition on Facebook. Having pictures taken so close of my face was probably my least favourite part of this review but the mascara was definitely worth is which is why I give it a 4 of out 5.Flutter those lashes ladies x
Great review :) I need a new mascara so I'll give this a try :)

Maybe you could try giving your lashes a second coat with the mascara? That will probably make them look thicker :)

ReplyDeleteDior is the best, seriously. I only use it every once in a while because I have dark hair and lashes.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, lovely! I'm tempted to try this mascara. Maybe when I get my mitts on one of those £5 off vouchers. xx
ReplyDeleteThe curve of the brush looks really lovely, I like how your ladhes don't look too made up, just a few sweeps and they look really nice, keeping it quite natural and subtle, which I find best when it comes to mascara!

Hmmm. I shall have to consider No 7 when I'm in boots next.. Just like you, it just always seemed a bit.. hm.. I don't know. Not quality enough? But I might give it a try! :)
ReplyDeleteI like Boots No. 7 products but the bugger is that there is no Boots in Singapore and certainly no No. 7. I stock up when I go to Bangkok ever so often!
ReplyDeletegreat review - will have to keep this in mind when I'm getting my next mascara x
ReplyDeleteI don't think we get No7 in New Zealand, but it looks like a nice Mascara. I'm looking to change from my Napoleon as it is a wee bit clumpy!
ReplyDeletethe result is nice and neat.. i really hate when my eyelashes got sticking each other, but i don't see it on the result..
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing
