Last week I was a bit MIA on the blogging front but I'm back and ready for a blogging filled week. The last few days have been a super busy affair with my interview and 2 consecutive trips to the theatre, one trip to see Frankenstien and another for a discussion on the science behind said play with Brian Cox but more on that (with a talk with Danny Boyle) another day. On Wednesday I had a day of work for interview prep and pub lunch so I decided to wear my new pleated skirt.
You've probably seen this skirt everywhere by now and are sick of it. I first spied it on Jasmine and then Kristabel. I feel in love with the deep burgundy colour, pleats a plenty and granny-like style of it. I think the skirt need careful styling otherwise said granny look becomes all the more apparent hence my addition of chunky boots and denim.
I think I've said this on the blog before but I wish I hadn't bought my DMs in pink and instead have opted for a patent black style. I've been thinking of spray painting them black but I'm not sure how well they'd look. I have spied these patent creepers on ASOS though so I'm kinda tempted to buy them instead of trying out and failing at a DIY job. The blue pair are pretty cool too but probably another case of regre-it-later-colour-choice. Have you seen Jen's customised DMs courtesy of Charlie? I think they're amazing!!!

Haha everyone has that skirt! I really do love the colour and the version in the electric blue too but I just can't wear midi length skirts, they just look silly on me! Also, Charlie's customised DMs are amazing, she's one talented lady. Love her.
ReplyDeleteI have been lusting after this skirt after seeing it on Jazmine. It just such a gorgeous colour! Im really feeling pleats recently!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you have styled it!

i love this skirt on you but know I can't pull off the pleats! I like the pink DM's but agree black would be more versatile :)

Love the colour of the skirt. You look fab.
ReplyDeleteX x x
Those boots are so dope!! xx
ReplyDeleteOh I love that skirt! I do enjoy a bit of granny chic but the way you've funked it up is fab and very unexpected.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you think of Frankenstein? They're showing it by satellite at my local Picturehouses cinema and I'm very tempted by the actors but I suffered through the book as an A level set text and it's putting me off slightly!
That skirt is great! Love the sequined tee shirt too. I have a pair of patent black DM's myself but find I don't wear them that often because I worry they look too emo, and I am a little on the emo side anyway! Bit easier to co-ordinate the colour than the pink I suppose though.
ReplyDeleteI love the bow and the necklace! Such an unexpected combination but it really works :-)

ReplyDeleteLove the skirt! it's so perfect :) X.
ReplyDeleteI do love a pleated skirt and i have not found one! Again I think ASOS Curve should make this and I will add it to my basket faster than I can say "Yes". I want this in all colours!
ReplyDeleteHehe, I am one of the many victims of The Skirt - I have this one too! I love how you've given it an edge with the denim and DMs, the look is excellent. I wear mine in all it's granny glory, brogues, jumper, pearls, the works. Viva la gran! xx
