Yesterday I spent the day at Reading Festival and boy did I have a good time seeing some amazing bands. I'm a bit of a Reading and Leeds veteran now, this was my 7th time at the festival and one of my favourites I think. The first 5 years I went I camped but now I prefer to go for the day as it's less stressful hence the reason I had such a great time. The only down side to going for the day is that you have to leave early to make sure you catch the last train which sucks big time, especially if you have to miss a band you love. I was able to catch the first hour of The Strokes but I was literally crying when we had to leave because they were so amazing!
My festival chic outfit (if I can call it that) consists of an Aztec tee, denim shorts and of course Hunter wellies. I bought the bum bag when I was travelling last year and it's so much more convenient than a normal bag. I had a rain coat in my little brown satchel but I only used it to sit on and keep warm on the journey home.
I took my little sister H with me as a treat for her 18th birthday. It was her first festival experience and I think she loved it! Here are some pictures from the day including a few snaps of the bands I saw.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetics Zeros were amazing!
I really enjoyed Two Door Cinema Club
H and I chilling we our cider
Get my dance on
Madness were a lot of fun
Jimmy Eat World are an old favourite of mine, they rocked it
Juicy Jules by Models Own on my nails - DISCO NAILS!
Hung out with some of my friends who won weekend tickets
As the sun goes down
Second time this year I saw Pulp and they were fantastic. The confetti at the end was beautiful and I adore Jarvis Cocker, he's a complete legend!
The Strokes were my highlight, they were beyond amazing and Julian Casablancas is sexy as hell. I was gutted when we had to leave early missing around 20minutes of their set but what I did see blew me away. I've loved The Strokes since This Is It first came out so it was a dream come true finally getting to see them live
All in all a fantastic day out I think. A few years ago I had a lot of beef with Reading Festival as it's full of too many teenagers but now I've discovered that going for the day is the best of both worlds and I'll definitely be going again as long as there are bands I love playing!
Hope you're having a good bank holiday weekend x
