So florals are always big during the summer time and whilst I am a fan of them I find it hard to do the whole girly floral dress thing so to counteract the prettiness I just stick my trusty denim jacket on top. I think a lot of people have this dress but can you blame them when it's so colourful and fun? It came with a skanky yellow slip and tacky belt but I snipped those off quickly. It isn't really that sheer so a slip wasn't a necessity. I don't normally do matchy matchy when it comes to bags but I couldn't resist this adorable satchel in a matching mustard colour, they both go so well together in my opinion.

I wore this on Saturday when I did a bit of shopping on Oxford Street including the Motel Rocks sample sale (disappointing) and checking out the new Forever 21 (brilliant)! I also popped along to South Bank to see what was going on at the Vintage Festival but I was too late to shop, however I did enjoy some live music and spotting plenty of fabulous vintage outfits. The festival cost £60 I think but I just hung around outside the Royal Festival Hall which didn't cost anything, bonus!

How do you turn a pretty dress into something not so girly x

  1. I can't believe the satchel is from Primark, it's stunning. Lovely splash of yellow! I haven't tried out F21 yet, but given your recommendation I might have to make a weekend appointment... xx

  2. dress from primark? I did not expect that! I thought it was vintage. It's looooovely, so orange and flowery, my favourite combo at the moment :)

  3. Woah, I didn't expect the dress and bag to be from Primark. They're both gorgeous and look much classier than I expect from the majority of stuff from there.

  6. You'd think really, that I'd look at this outfit and not be able to take my eyes from that wonderful dress, but no, my eyes go straight to the brogues - I'm a brogue-obsessive right now! x

  8. I bet primark will be getting a few visits now because both the satchel and dress are stunning. More Topshop that Primark!

  9. I love this dress, very summery! If I want to 'toughen' up a girly look, I wear my biker boots (or so I call them) and more 'rocky' make-up...I'm so bad at describing it though! I don't do super super girly... xx

  13. I also have a similar denim biker jacket which works a treat, though I don't have floral dresses. Just lots of white ones!

I wish I had gone to the Southbank...I was confused and thought the entire thing was indoors and cost £60 just to have a look! xo
