After wearing my parka for the last 5 days I've decided that summer is officially over! Even though I do love winter and all the layers that come with it I'll be sad to say good bye to bare legs so here's what I imagine will be my last summery outfit.
I bought this dress on my recent trip to Northern Ireland and managed to do a bit of DIY on it can you believe it. It had a really badly executed elasticated waist which I spent ages pulling apart but now I much prefer it so happy days. Cinching in your waist with a belt looks much better than with the inbuilt elastic I think. I've just noticed my Reading Festival wrist band matches this dress nicely!
Are you sad to say goodbye to summer x

ReplyDeleteAnd yeh, summer did flop didn't it? Prepareth for autumn!
Love your necklace! I miss summer already , I'm sad to get my tights out. x hivenn
ReplyDeleteI have a skirt sitting in my closed calling out for hem alternation but I'm actually quite good at ignoring it :P You look too cute hannah, and i bet you'll be excited to get out all the wooly hats and whatnot!
ReplyDeleteThat belt is divine, I can't stop staring at it! (Weirdo!)
ReplyDeleteMaria xxx
Where oh where has the summer gone?! Still you look gorgeous in that frock and I agree with Maria above, the belt is divine
ReplyDeleteA very cute look with the ankle socks and shiny shoes. xx
ReplyDeleteBare legs? BARE LEGS?! You are brave! I have been soooooo cold all week. I'm loving autumn. Knitwear is my comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteyour dress is amazing <3
ReplyDeleteThe colour of that belt is soo lovely, and those shoes! Love them! xx
ReplyDeletethese colours really suit you!
ReplyDeleteI feel like summer never really happened, which is a bit sad. I'm trying to cheer myself up by adapting my summer clothes for winter wear. Bring on the opaque tights!
ReplyDeleteThis cornflower blue colour is delicious, very summery, but you could carry on wearing this during autumn and winter too. Aah, opaque tights, where would we be without you.
i think the belt looks much better! and plus i love thecolour! its been so cold where i live too, but i like wrapping up in layers and chunky jumpers haha

That print is soooo cute and looks lovely on you! I also like the bow print peterpan collared one that is below in your 'You might also like' post- it's gorgeous, especially the floaty sleeves!
ReplyDeleteI miss summer already, having been back in school 4 days and it feels like forever, finding it hard to motivate myself!!
That's sooo cool about the Doctor who exhibition! I went to one at Earls court a couple of years ago which was fab, except where some autons 'came to life' just as I was saying, "Wouldn't it be funny if they came to..." AHGHHHHHHHH!!!
Beautiful dress. Well done on altering it! I agree that summer is definitely over. There was a glimpse of sunshine the other day and then it started raining a minute later and has barely stopped since.
ReplyDeleteThe print of the dress is so pretty, definitely worth spending the time to alter it.
ReplyDeleteI hope they'll be a last burst of sunshine so that I can wear a couple more summery outfits before the opaque tights come out but I'm not too hopeful! x
Love the print on this dress! and yeah. what kind of a summer was that. humph!
ReplyDeleteI just added a blog roll to my blog and you're on it!
