A Millie's cookie cake is a birthday tradition of mine

This is the first time I've celebrated my birthday on the blog and boy has it been a good one. This time last year I was travelling through South East Asia and celebrated my birthday in a joyous haze on a beach in Vietnam. This year I was stuck in cold, wet London so decided to make it a little special. I spent the weekend in Berlin (more on that in a few days I promise) and the following weekend I went out for a very belated meal with my family. Every year we go to a fancy restaurant of my choice for my birthday celebration. I wanted to go to Claridges this year but it was fully booked so instead we went to the
Tate Modern restaurant on the 7th floor. I have a thing for views at night and the higher up the better. Without a doubt this is one of the best night time views I've ever had in London. We were sat by the window directly opposite St Paul's, it was truly stunning. The food was delicious and in terms of decoration, the views did all the talking. I would go back to this restaurant in a heart beat.
Turbine Hall
After dinner we wondered around the Turbine Hall taking in the new Unilever Series installation,
Tacita Dream. Because I got a Canon EOS 550d from my parents many pictures were taken on the sloping entrance and the experience of being inside such an iconic gallery so late in the evening was a really fantastic. I love London to bits but a night the city really is on another level.
Have you eaten at the Tate Modern or any other gallery restaurant x
