Last Thursday I spent the evening in the Pall Mall store Farlows. I'd never heard of it either and when I found out it specialised in country fashion I was even more perplexed to why I was invited to the blogger event. However, the shop was an absolute delight, full of beautiful tweed clothing, crazy accessories and gorgeous boots and bags. After a few glasses of the bubbly stuff and some delicious nibbles we all set about our style challenge to dress as 'Lady of the manor'. I instantly found a stunning Barbour jacket and dressed my outfit around it. I found these chord trousers which were pretty identical to the pair I already had on and a cute Breton jumper with contrasting arm cuffs. A little dull compared to some of the other outfits but this was my first ever style challenge and I felt a bit flustered! My look was definitely more appropriate for a day out shooting in the mud which I suppose is a reflection on how I dress normally, nothing to prim and proper for me thanks! As far as country fashion goes I've always been in love with the waxy Barbour jackets and I even own a pair of bright pink Hunter wellies but that was a far as my knowledge would extend so it was great discovering some new brands such as Dubarry and Joules. All in all a terrific evening and if you fancy throwing my outfit a vote over on the Farlows Facebook page here please do =)
Thank you Laura, Sophie and the team at Farlows for a wonderful evening x

I've already spotted you on the facebook page!!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous and not at all boring, this style is totally my thing! I'm dead against shooting, but the country manor tweed look has always appealed to me. I just got my first ever tweed pencil skirt today from Brora and love it to bits...i think i want to become a character in a 50's novel:)
ReplyDeleteI'm also a huge fan of Joules.
Did you get to keep anything? I would die for that coat!
I loved the jacket you picked. The lining is gorgeous. It was lovely to finally meet you in the real world! x
ReplyDeleteI really love your country chic look, I would have relished this challenge!
ReplyDeletei am always quite drawn to tweed prints, and would love a pair of joules wellies for camping trips!
ReplyDeleteOoo what a fantastic event, I've always been a bit wary of Babor jackets but this one has a great girly twist
ReplyDeleteThere were so many things in the store that I wanted! In particular that little backpack that you featured in your outfit. I am still toying with the idea of going back for the duck print dress...
ReplyDeleteWas so lovely to see you, and yes, we do need to go shopping together at some point soon! x
