I am so behind on posting it's ridiculous. Since I went to Munich a few months ago I've been on 2 other holiday (Paris and Marrakesh photos to come shortly) but better late than never they all say. I popped over to the beautiful city of Munich a few months ago to visit my uni friend B who has been living there for 2 years. B has actually moved to Canada now (next years holiday sorted) so the visit was a bit of a last minute emergency weekend break before she moved. I love Germany, last year I visited Berlin for my birthday and Munich has always been a place I've wanted to check out so the timing was perfect. I stayed for 3 nights and we packed in lots including a crazy night out featuring a massive plastic horse in a pop up club, a day trip to Chiemsee where we got chased by a crazy dog and plenty of sight seeing!

One of the things I loved about Munich was all the architecture. There were beautiful old buildings including the palaces, the theatre, governmental buildings and town house plus an abundance of new, almost futuristic looking buildings including several art galleries, churches and car dealerships. The whole city really is a party for your eyes. On my first evening there we went out in traditional European style i.e. partying until 5am! On Saturday I did loads of sightseeing whilst B was working and even checked out the English speaking cinema Museum Lichtspiele where I watched The Dictator. On Sunday we went on a day trip to Chiemsee which was lovely, even though we were almost attached by the aforementioned dog! On Monday (my final day) I did a final bit of sightseeing and meant to visit a few museums but they were all shut except the Neue Pinakothek. I always forget how crap everywhere is on a Monday! I even managed to drink a few beers over the weekend even though I HATE beet! Munich was lovely and I definitely recommend you checking it out for a weekend city break. It's big enough that there's plenty to do but not so large you'll feel overwhelmed. I really want to go back soon and explore more of Bavaria which really is a gorgeous part of Germany.

Have you been to Munich x
