Oh how I love being a member of the Byron Burger Club with their endless supply of free burgers. This month Bunzilla is making an appearance on the menu, inspired by chef Fred's travels around Japan this is a 6oz soy-glazed beef patty, topped with miso-roasted bacon and an onion ring for crunch and sweetness, plus a dab of wasabi mayonnaise, all atop a bed of shredded white cabbage.
In all honesty I was a little sceptical at first but as soon as I bit into the squishy burger I was instantly relieved. A subtle sweetness comes from the soy-glazed beef plus the wasabi mayonnaise has all the taste without the blow-your-head-off hotness. I didn't try the home made Japanese-style pickles on the side (instead of the usual classic pickle) because I hate pickles but overall I really enjoyed this burger. I'm a big fan of American meets Asian fusion and I think this burger is a great example of how this partnership can work so well. I'm not sure how long it's on the menu for but I definitely recommend getting yourself down to Byron before it's too late.

Byron's burger club is literally the only thing I miss since I stopped eating meat, this sounds like a great combo. x
